The organization’s name refers to the safe level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere—350 parts per million—necessary to avoid the most catastrophic impacts of climate change. 350.org is known for its grassroots campaigns, which mobilize people around the world to take action against fossil fuel extraction and advocate for renewable energy.
