As droughts and resource conflicts intensified, she saw the need to make her people’s voices heard on the global stage. She began speaking out as a teenager and has since become a leading advocate for Indigenous rights and climate justice. Combining traditional knowledge with tools like participatory mapping, she works with communities to protect ecosystems and strengthen resilience. For Hindou, the fight against climate change is also a fight for dignity, inclusion, and the wisdom of those closest to the land.
